Cybersecurity

As more content is made digital and our online presence grows, new opportunities and companies are formed. It also creates opportunities for cyber-attacks, which looks to steal data from companies and individuals and either uses it for their own good or use ransomware techniques to generate income.

One of the core features of the blockchain is its inbuilt security features, such as decentralisation and cryptography which makes the blockchain tamper proof. As such there is increasing conversation of the utility of blockchain for cybersecurity.

The clearest use case from a cybersecurity front would be for domain name servicers. The decentralised approach and the immutability of the ledger means that denial of service attacks would be much harder to achieve than in a centralised system.

While blockchain may not be the answer to all of the cybersecurity issues, it certainly starts resolving some of the core issues that are prevalent at the moment.
