South Korea held legislative elections on 10 April 2024 to vote for members of the Kuk Hoe (National Assembly).
The unicameral assembly has 300 seats with members comprising 254 in single-seat constituencies and 46 members by proportional representation. Members of the assembly serve four-year terms.
The main opposition Democratic Party, led by Lee Jae-myung, won 175 seats in the Kuk Hoe, while President Yoon Suk-yeol’s ruling People Power Party won 108 seats.
The country has a population of 52 million and around 44.2 million registered to vote. The overall voter turnout in the April 2024 election was 67% compared with 66% in 2020.
