Senegal held presidential elections on 24 March 2024.
Opposition candidate Bassirou Diomaye Faye of the Patriots of Senegal party won the election with 54% of votes, beating Amadou Ba of the Alliance for the Republic who received 35% of the vote, and third-placed candidate Aliou Mamadou Dia with 2.8%. In total, 19 candidates stood for the election.
Senegal has a population of 17.7 million and around 7.3 million registered voters. Turnout in the 2024 election was 61.3%.
